Winter Wishes using Simple Snowflakes

Happy Tuesday!

Gina K Designs is having a blog hop today to show off a few new releases for October. You can go hop through that list starting at Tami Mayberry's blog....  but only after you finish this smaller hop of course!

The Tami Mayberry girls :) are showing off projects today using her newest set called Simple Snowflakes. Check out this set.... I have had a lot of fun playing with it! Just a side note... it is available in clear and rubber!

I kept my card clean and simple. Lots of white space and some simple stamping. I love the mixture of larger and smaller images/sentiments in this set! I think that helps make the set versatile... lots of mixing possibilities!

Make sure to visit these talented ladies to see what they have to share with you....

Gentry's Farm

Earlier in the month... we had to travel to Franklin to take a bus back that the church had rented for a trip. So... we decided that since we were going... we would visit Gentry's Farm. These are just some of my fav pics from the day... and they are not in the order that they were taken.

October 2012

 Carver got a new haircut.

I started doing some work to the front of the house. I cut back a lot of bushes... almost to the ground... a month or two ago. More recently... Michael cut down a tree for me (you can still see part of it in this picture) that was half dead. It was really tall and would have blocked part of the view of the garage from this angle.

The roof (new this summer) is black, the shutters were brown, and the door was navy! :) Those big bushes in the front were on my last nerve. They are always needing to be cut back because they overtake the sidewalk. The porch railing... also on my last nerve. We NEVER use the porch because you feel claustrophobic. So...

I spray painted the shutters black, tore down the railing, Michael pulled up the bushes, I painted the front door and the bench.

This spring... I hope we can plant something lower to the ground in front of the porch, replace the outside lights (they are brown and faded/old), paint the gutters, and replace the porch columns. I am thinking something like this...

.... as far as the block on the bottom and then a square column the rest of the way up. I have a couple of months to think about it. Until then... we are loving having an open porch. I was able to sit on our bench and look at Pinterest on my phone... while Carver played in the front yard. Yippee!

I made this! I found the idea in a magazine but it was one of those things I cut out a long time ago so I am not sure which one. The 'original' used flatter pumpkins and didn't have the burlap and string in between. My top pumpkin didn't sit flat on top. I hot glued them together for stability but the top pumpkin kept pulling back and you could see the hot glue. So... I had to come up with a solution. Next year... I will look for some flat pumpkins before everything is picked over! :)

This part of road (just outside of our subdivision) is my favorite! I love how the trees on both sides  come together to cover the road. Gorgeous in the spring and fall! The picture doesn't do it justice!

When we went to take the picture above this one.. Carver had to bring his camera as well. In this picture he had insisted that I stop so he could take a picture of a pretty tree and a dog near that fence. :) I love that he loves to take pictures! And I just love him!

Lannom Farms

I haven't been posting on my blog as often as I would like to be! That makes me sad so I thought I would share a few picture posts tonight to show a little bit of what we have been up to in October. I didn't take time to edit all of these pictures.... call me lazy! :)

These pictures are from a trip that we made to a local pumpkin patch last week...

This last picture looks like Carver is using the restroom... he is really trying to hide and scare his daddy as he walks by! :)

I Am Thankful For You with Avocado Arts

Happy Monday!

The girls of the Pit Crew Too are sharing one last project (as a group anyway) using the Avocado Arts October set called Gobble Till You Wobble!

For my card... I used the tag image and sentiment to create a mask for a vase. I traced the 'vase' onto my card base and then stamped the wheat image. I removed the mask and colored the vase. I then stamped the sentiment and added a little more color to the wheat with a copic. Clean and simple... just the way I like it!

I hope you have a great day and that you will go visit these talented ladies to see what they have to share...

Dot Garland

I made a mini version of some of the dot garland that I have been making for the Whisker Graphics blog.  This is not an original idea of mine but I don't remember where I got the idea. One of those things that I printed off the web a long time ago and kept.

As you can see... I made a longer one to hang on my window! I also made 5 strands to hang from Carvers door frame. He loves walking through them all day long! Super fun and super easy!

I can't wait to make some for Christmas!!

Peace and Love!

Give Thanks with Avocado Arts

Happy Monday!

Today the entire Pit Crew are sharing projects using the October kit called Gobble Till You Wobble with a sneak peek of the November kit called Very Merry Season!

All of my stamped images are from the October kit with the exception of the string.... it is the sneak peek on my card... shhhh! :)

I have been all about making Halloween decor the last few days so that is where my acorn banner inspiration came from. I just stamped the sting and acorns. I added stickles and a little bling for dimension. I used the tag (minus the circle/hole) for my sentiment. I cut it out and adhered it with foam tape for more dimension. I inked everything with distress ink because I love inking the edges with distress ink! :)

Make sure to visit all of the Pit Crew ladies today! If you leave a comment on our blogs... you are entered to win one of these great mini sets!
