Happy Tuesday!

Todays card is another one that I made for a Paper Crafts call. I still have several of those in my 'to post' folder! Even though I wish every card I made got picked up for the magazine... it is nice to have some cards to post when I am not feeling very crafty! I have had a hard time getting back into the swing of things since the holidays are over. I think it has to do with my craft room! It is a MESS! I clean up each night that I craft but there are so many other things covering the floor... to do projects, a die cutting machine that I don't have room for anywhere yet (still in the box... booooo!), Carvers 5th birthday party decor, etc.... lots o' stuff! This room ends up being the place things go until I can find them a permanent home and/or have time to deal with it.

Carver turns 5 on Saturday and we are having his first 'friend party'... the kind that you invite kids and they bring presents. We are pretty big on C not having a big party every year. First of all... I don't know how parents afford it. We are having his party at a local bouncy house type place and WOW!! I can't imagine paying that every year. Not that he isn't worth it.... but it isn't necessary! We do something fun/different to celebrate his birthday every year. Last year he had his cousins come over to spend the night. That was a lot of fun. Anyway... I am starting to ramble.

My hubby turns 40 in the next couple of weeks too and I think we will be having some people over for that. My point is... after the two birthdays have come and gone.... it is time to redo my craft room. I am excited! My parents and in-laws gave me some money and gift cards for Christmas that will help to get the job done. I don't like the thought of taking time off from crafting to do it but... I know I will be glad once it is done!

Okay... well... I have rambled on for too long now! :) I get chatty at 1:45 am!

Peace and Love!

I am SO with you on the birthday party thing. I have often wondered myself why parents spend so much money on things kids won't remember the next year...I'd rather spend that money on gifts! Love the card today too, super cute.

Love your card, I came across your blog and have been exploring you blog. I will be coming back to visit for sure. In my exploring I saw that you were another of the World Card Making Day winners! Yay! I have my die cutter still in the box too. It's so sad. I too am working on getting organize in our den that works as an office/classroom(i home school)/craftroom. A shelving system is in the works and i can't wait!

Love that card! (It would be a good one for the quilt ministry - hint hint!) And maybe we could collaborate on fixing up our crafting areas - I could help you and you could help me! I find it works better when I have someone there keeping me on track..... ;-) But I know what you mean about hating to take time away from actual crafting!

Kelley, I have a new appreciation for the precision that clean-and-simple cards require. I'm taking the current class that Jen M., Kristina W., and Julie E. are hosting and trying to emulate CAS designs . . . yikes! There's no room for error, is there?

Re: birthday parties -- My daughter is 7 and up until this past year we just had simple parties at our house. A few family members, a handful of friends at the most, etc. Cake and snacks, a few simple decorations, and just let the kids play. Last year we did the bounce house thing, which I think the kids enjoyed, but we definitely won't be doing that every year!

What a beautiful card with a wonderful scripture! God is GOOOOOOD:) Thanks for reminding me!

Happy birthday to your little Carver!! I hope you take pics of the bday party!! And you don't have to spend a lot for a party--they don't mind and mostly care about presents and cake! So I totally agree with not having a big party each year!

Happy birthday (early) to your husband!! And hooooooray for the chance to redo your craft room! I can't wait to see before and after pics:)
