Cards For St. Jude

Happy New Year!! I hope you all had a wonderful night last night and you are all safe and sound this morning! We had a few teenagers come over and hang out for a while... that was a lot of fun! That is something that we haven't done much since having Carver but something that we want to start doing more often so... we figured this was a great way to start off the new year! Anyway....

Another great way to start off the New Year is by helping my (our) friend, Winter Sims, to deliver some Valentine cards to about 200 patients at St. Jude.

Winter is coming to Nashville on vacation, in February, (I get to see her... I am very excited about that) with her family. Winter and her family are long time supporters of St. Jude. Winter said that God showed her that she would pass right through where St. Jude is located on her way to Nashville and it happened to be right around Valentines Day! God laid this project on Winter's heart and she contacted St. Jude! St. Jude told her that they usually see around 200 patients a day! That is why Winter is asking for our help... 200 cards is too many for one person alone to make in a month!

Here are a few details...

Cards need to be Valentine theme.
Cards can NOT have anything about Get well soon or Feel better... nothing to remind the children that they are sick.
Cards should be able to be given to either gender and any age.
Cards should be standard A2 size.
You can stamp a sentiment (Valentines theme) inside.
You can also sign the card with your name and where you are from.
You do NOT need to send envelopes with your card(s).

Winter will be giving away prizes all month long on her blog! To be entered to win... you can send 1 or 10 or 20 cards (however many you feel led to make) to Winter at a PO Box listed on her blog.

My post today is just a brief description of what Winter is doing and of the details. Please visit Winter's blog... here... to get all of the details!

I think this is a great thing for Winter to do and I am so excited to see how you guys are going to pull through to help put a smile on a sick child's face! Thanks Winter for allowing me to be a part of this project!

I made 10 cards... all of them pretty simple. Since they need to go to either gender and since Winter is going to be carrying around 200 cards... I didn't think ribbon, etc... was appropriate! I figured... flat is good! Anyway.... here are a few of my cards. I took a picture of 8 of them. For some reason... I missed 2 of them and now it is too late to worry about it. I need sleep! :)

Hope you guys have a wonderful New Years Day!! Peace and Love!

Great cards, Kelley -- I'm impressed that you've already made 10! Love that set, too. It's on my PTI wish list, but it may be a long while before it finds its way into my craft room. :( Oh, well. it's not like I don't have anything else to play with!
