Looky Looky Looky... I made something! Woo Hoo! Feeling a little rusty but... it felt good!

Just playing with some of my new favs... love this PTI set, the PTI felt and the PTI dies! Also... I used some of my music paper that my good friend, Janelle, was kind enough to send me! :)

Well... going to keep it short! My parents called today and asked for Carver to spend the night! I dropped him off in the early afternoon. Lots to do around here while I have a little 'free' time!

Hopefully some of that free time can be spent right here later on... making some cards and visiting with friends! :)

One more thing... I want to show you what my cousin brought to me this afternoon!!


I LOVE IT! I have wanted one of these for a long time but was not going to pay what the catalogs want for them. I thought I would eventually make one for myself and I have yet to do it (surprise surprise). My cousin made me this one as a Thank you for letting her use my Cricut machine... I came out way good on that deal! :) That was very sweet and as a Thank you to her... I am telling anyone in the Nashville, TN area ... email me if you want one of these and I will tell you her pricing and give you her info! Believe me... much much cheaper than what you would pay elsewhere!

Just because post!!

Just because it has been so long... I am doing a short post! Sorry I haven't been around here or on your blog. I worked my tail off last week and this week... I seem to just be out of steam.

I am frustrated right now with my new to me laptop and trying to learn how to use Photoshop. I am going to switch back to my old laptop and back to my old ways! It is just not the time to be learning so many new things... it just gets me frustrated because nothing seems to be working right. Anyway... just frustrated and needed to vent! It's my blog... I can do that, right?

Hopefully I can get my stuff together and get back in the swing soon!

Now... I am going to try to make something so I will have something better to post soon! I need some good crafting therapy to get me through the rest of the night without screaming! :)

Mom

I made this card to give to my mom today for her birthday! Her birthday is not today but we are celebrating with my family this afternoon!

It is stormy and yucky! Severe weather so I am a little nervous about that!

My body aches and I am soooo sleepy! :) I have been working my tail off to get my house cleaned out and better organized! Michael took 1 tub and 1 bag of just stuff.. and 4 bags of clothes to the Goodwill truck today! I have a 2 tubs of crafty stuff to deliver this weekend.. plus another tub of stuff to my mom. Plus... about 5 bags of misc. stuff that is going different places! AND... I am not done!

Off to tackle the t-shirt battle with the husband! Time to work on our room and then take a bath and make some potato salad to take tonight!

What I Am Doing...

What am I doing?

I can't believe that I am going to show you this but.... this is what I am doing...



I am cleaning OUT my craft/cat/crap room! :) I know it doesn't look like I am cleaning it because it doesn't look clean. I am actually just cleaning it out and then I will go back and give it a good cleaning! :) I am soooooooooooooo tired of having so much stuff... ! And I don't just mean in my craft room!

I have piles everywhere of stuff that is going to be going to a new home... somewhere... really soon! :) I am not kidding when I tell you that I have 'collected' scrapbooking supplies for well over 10 years now! And I have a hard time parting with things but.... not this time! Keeping my eye on the prize... a nice, clean and organized room with ONLY the stuff that I will use (at some point... ha)!

And... in case you are wondering... NO... the rest of my house doesn't look like this. Just this room! It is the 'catch all' room! Unfortunately! You can tell by the furnishings... a few are pieces that go with something else (bedroom furniture for example) that we have no where to store but cant fit in other rooms. One day I hope to get some new bedroom furniture and I can sell the whole set together. Anyway.... rambling! :)

Just wanted to post and show you what I am up to! I will be sure to post the after pictures so you can see that I do... indeed... know how to clean and organize! :)

So... I let a lot of blog award acknowledgements escape me way back a few months ago when I had my surgery! I decided that today I would list 33 things about myself that you may not already know! I always enjoy reading these lists about other people (that usually go along with some of the blog awards) so I thought... why not! It's my birthday... I can do what I want! :)

Disclaimer... not all of these things will be things that I am 'proud of' but they are telling of who I am or progress that I have made! ha

1. I played sports my whole life up until my first semester of college.
2. I was voted Most Athletic my Senior year of High School.
3. I had a fracture of the spine my Senior year.
4. I played basketball for a local college for a little while my Freshman year.
5. I quit... I hated it.
6. I hate people telling me what to do.
7. I got in a lot of trouble as a teenager.
8. I got into several fights as a teenager. Actual physical fights.
9. Most of those fights were caused by taking up for myself or my friends.
10. I was engaged at 19 and married at 21.
11. I was engaged after only 2 months of dating.
12. For several years we had a motorcycle.
13. Sometimes I miss having a motorcycle... let me clarify... I miss having a Harley! :)
14. I have a bachelors degree in Psychology.
15. My first job... post college... was as a Case Manager at a local mental health clinic. Interesting to say the least!
16. My second job was as a Benefits Administrator at LifeWay Christian Resources.
17. My very first job that I had... I had for 5 years and it was working at Mrs. Winners (a fast food chicken place).
18. I guess I will tell you about my only other job in between that and finishing college... it was as a Traffic Assistant at Performance Food Group.
19. I am terrified of public speaking.
20. If I were to move away... I would want to move to California.
21. I am ashamed at the amount of crafty stuff that I own.
22. My #2 dream job would be to create everyday and get paid for it.
23. I live my #1 dream job!
24. I hate hate hate drama and I hate it even more when I seem to create it myself.
25. I don't hang out with a lot of women because of the fact that I hate drama!
26. I am a loner and very independent... always have been.
27. I drive fast... I like to drive fast... I drive better at a faster rate of speed!
28. I bite my fingernails.
29. I bite my toenails (ha ha... just kidding... just seeing if you are paying attention)...
29. I am anti-social as often as I can be.
30. I have a very small tattoo of a cross on the inside of my right ankle.
31. I got that tattoo on my Senior trip.
32. I have gone through a bout with depression before. That's what working in Mental Health and getting married as a baby can do for you! :)
33. I sometimes think I could still benefit from some medicine! :) Can I get an Amen?

Okay... so I am not as sweet as you might think, huh? :)

Bucket Advent

This is the other project that I worked on lately. I think I am going to have to enlist the help of a friend who is a wonderful seamstress (hint hint) to finish/fix it! I saw the idea in Pottery Barn last year but of course I am not going to pay what they want for it when I can make one... or so I thought. So... here is the ... let's call it... rough draft...


I want to replace the twine with ribbon and sew it where I can get the buckets to all stay facing forward. I also need to measure my mantle and do better about making it fit.

I Am A Bad Friend and I Know It

I am going to quit saying that I hope to catch up with you all today, tomorrow or even next week. I seem to be setting myself up to fail! :) I honestly do not know where time has gone these past two weeks. I promise you it hasn't been spent making cards (even though you can't tell it from all the Christmas cards/tags, etc... that I have posted)! Most of what I have been showing was made before I started being a bad blog friend!

So... I am just going to say today that... maybe I will visit you sometime this month!

If you quit visiting me and leaving comments... I don't blame you! :) I hope you won't but... I don't blame you!

Anyway.... I do have more Christmas stuff to share!

I bought these wooden tags/ornaments at Hobby Lobby at Carvers first Christmas. I wanted to make him an ornament for every Christmas with his picture on it!

Well.. I finally made the two that I had! I made his first and second year Christmas ornaments. I will have to get some more this year and hopefully I will get better at making them. They are made and that is the important thing!

This submission deadline for Christmas projects definitely helped me to complete two projects ... well... almost complete two projects (I will share the almost completed one later) ... that I have been wanting to do! So... that is good, right? :)

Here are the ornaments.... they are a little busy for my liking but... again.... they are done! I realized that for at least his first two Christmas's ... I don't have any really good ornament decorating pictures. Will have to keep that in mind while taking pics this year!

Tag Time

Christmas Krafts

Happy Saturday! We have been at the soccer fields this morning watching my niece and nephew at their games! I got some sun so I am really really tired! :) But... before I lay down (maybe)... I wanted to post.

One Year Ago Today

I started this amazing blog journey!! Little did I know then how much joy this 'blogging thing' would bring into my life! :) I have met some amazing and wonderful women (you) who I am so thankful to call my friends!

One of my special friends, Janelle, (Show and Tell) is also celebrating her one year blogiversary today! So... we decided that we would celebrate together!! If you don't know Janelle... you should! Janelle is such a beautiful, kind and caring woman... not to mention... a wonderful crafter!

Janelle's sweet daughter, Britt, made the button for us at the top of my post! Isn't it adorable? I just love it! Christmas in April

Here are two of the Christmas cards that I have made recently. Don't tell anyone but these are not my favs of the ones that I have made so I am sharing those first!

Also... I wanted to make sure you guys didn't think I was tooting my own horn yesterday! Well... I was in a way but it was about how well I have been doing with not stressing over the pub calls! I have not had any new cards picked for CARDS this time. The deadline is still going! So... just wanted to clarify that! :) Again... if that is how that came across.... I just wanted to make sure you knew I wasn't tooting my own horn about having cards accepted! :)

Today I am posting the other half cards of the digital background cards that I posted a little while ago. These are not my favs!

And... I am posting a card that I made using the Unity March kit of the month! I made it to send to a special young lady! She received it a long time ago but I haven't posted it yet because it looks a little better in person (I hope). It is bright bright bright! And... I wasn't too happy with the picture of it that I got before I mailed it!

Anyway... here they are!!



Hope you guys are having a great day! Things are good here! I have worked a little bit on blog hopping the past couple of days but am still not 'caught up'! I don't know what is wrong with me... I haven't been in the blogging or blog hopping mood... or even the card making mood lately! Guess that means I am in need of a little break! I am really in the mood to dig in and finally get my craft room cleaned up and out. I am in the getting rid of stuff mood.... not just in the craft room... everywhere!!

I have plenty of new stuff to show but it is all Christmas stuff! I have worked a little bit on the current PC call. However... I have managed to not let it consume me and most nights.... I don't make anything for it at all... or anything at all for that matter! So... that is progress for me! I think I am actually done with what I will send in to PC. I am kind of out of ideas/inspiration so unless some strikes between now and the deadline... I am cool! :) Feels good! I had fun with what I made... a lot of fun. At this point... if I try to make more... it seems like it will be more like work so... we will see how that goes! I am really trying here people! :)

I did real well on the CARDS call and another call... I sent in previously made submissions for both.... woo hoo. I did have a couple of new Christmas ones that I sent in because they looked like they would fit better with CARDS! Anyway... enough chatting! :) I just wanted to let you know since I posted my late night rambles that I am doing really well with the submission thing! I find my mind focused on the things that it should be focused on! Thank you God!!
