Happy Easter

It is about 10:30pm on Saturday night! I wasn't planning to post again this weekend but wanted to post this tag that I made last night! I made it to put on Carver's Easter basket from the Easter bunny!

Carver is so sweet! He talks about God and Jesus all the time! I pray that he always does!

Last night we talked about why we celebrate Easter! When I talk about God and/or Jesus... he will just sit and soak it all in! I love that!

Carver said today out of the blue that I was the Easter bunny! I didn't argue with him about it... I just asked him why he thought that! It is hard to know what to do about holidays... I don't want to lie to him about things like Santa and the Easter bunny! I want him to know, for sure, why we celebrate these holidays! But... I also don't want to take away from him those fond childhood memories that I have of believing in Santa, etc! What do you do or did you do with your kids?

I think that believing in Santa, etc... didn't mess me up! Not that I know of anyway! :) It is just hard to know what to do!

Anyway... didn't mean to get into all of that! That is what happens when I am tired and do a blog post... rambling! :)

Hope you all have a wonderful Easter!

Peace and Love!

Sweet! That chocolate bunny looks good enough to eat!

As for the belief in the holiday icons...you have to go with your gut on this one. My kids still believe and it's fun to help along the belief. When they no longer do, I hope the spirit of the season helps them understand that we are embracing the season and they can help! I don't know if that makes sense.

I hope you and your family have a lovely holiday!

Hi Kelley! Fantastic Easter tag!

Holidays - a good friend at work once told me that whenever her children questioned, she would say "I believe in Santa because I believe in the spirit of love and giving." I love this concept as it isn't lying per se, and have used it somewhat with my boys, the eldest is beginning to question these things. He is a smart boy and not much gets past him and I don't want to lie to him. Good luck!
Hugs & Happy Easter!
Shanna :)

Kelley, we do Santa and Easter Bunny for our daughter (6), and also take her to church to celebrate the "reason for the season." I always try to be honest with her and have felt some qualms about perpetuating these beloved secular stories. I think she will be ok with it when she is older -- we wanted her to have these magical childhood memories just as we did.

Very cute tag, your choice of colors were spot on. I am fortunate that my boys are still young enough to not question yet, and I am not really sure what I will say when they do. I guess I will just go with the believing in the magic of each of these icons, and the spirit they bring to all others. Hey, I still believe in the magic of Santa and the Easter Bunny and its the best feeling in the world to see my boys do the same! And I am over 30!!

Cute tag, Kelley! I just ordered that chocolate bunny stamp. Figure I'll put it to use next year. My daughter figured out the Easter Bunny when she was 3, too. And then immediately made the connection to Santa and the tooth fairy. She loved to play along with it all, though. My son on the other hand was a firm believer in all things like that until I finally had to burst his bubble when he was 9 or 10. That didn't go so well. My opinion is that the earlier they learn it all the better (for them) -- and that it doesn't take away the magic and fun of the holidays. After all, who doesn't like a surprise basket or Christmas stocking filled with treats that someone else (anyone else!) picked out for you! Carver's at such a fun age, though -- glad you're enjoying him. And that you're teaching him Truth, too! Happy Resurrection Day!

I love that tag! So cute!!

On the holiday thing - when Nancy lost her first tooth, we told her about the tooth fairy and she cheerfully put her tooth under her pillow and went to bed. I did exactly what my mom did and put a quarter under there in place of the tooth. She got up the next morning and said, "You're the tooth fairy, aren't you, mom?" I asked her what made her say that, and she said, "Because all my friends get $2 and a pair of earrings - and you're cheap!" So the tooth fairy went out the window. But when she later asked me whether I was Santa Claus, I turned it right around on her and said, "If I'm so cheap, do you honestly think I'd buy all those toys?" That shut her up! I think she figured that if she quit "believing" in Santa, she'd get fewer presents - so she still tells me she believes!

It's not long before they stop believing so I think it's fun for them while it lasts! (= Those little years go by too fast. BTW, your Bunny is Adorable!!

I love this bunny stamp & so wished it was one of the cling mounted ones at SU! I'm all about clear or cling mount now & it's really hard to buy something that isn't unless I know that I'd use it a lot.
