Michael and Carver Crafts

I am always posting my crafts on my blog. Today I wanted to post some crafts by Michael and Carver.

Carver is not a crafty person so far. Carver is all boy and would rather throw a ball or hit something than sit down and color. I don't push him to be crafty. I figure most boys just aren't and I will have to have a girl if I want a craft partner. I am always surprised when he actually makes stuff at school or church. I need to ask them how they do it!

This is what Carver made me, at school, for Mother's Day! It is still alive and still sitting in my kitchen window.

This Easter egg was also made at school. Carver was so proud of this egg and loved seeing it in the window. So did mommy!

This is a picture of Carver's clothesline thingy :-) that hangs in his room. I got this from Pottery Barn, before he was born, in hopes of one day hanging his little works of art on it. I love it! Carver loves seeing his art on his wall. Every time we put something new up, he talks about it for a couple of days.

Now... on to the big boy's crafts!

Michael made me an Anniversary card this year. He was paranoid about it when he gave it to me. Michael was afraid I wouldn't like it. I LOVED IT! It is my favorite card he has given me so far except for the homemade Valentines Card he gave me a few years ago.

Michael made this on his mac.... that is where he does his crafty stuff. I told him I was glad that he didn't come into my room and mess with my craft stuff. :-)

The only part I didn't love about the card was that picture of us in the right hand bottom corner. We are both red faced but... I was in labor with our son! I guess it is actually a great picture to use since it was such a beautiful day we shared but I sure didn't look too pretty! :-)

Rock Star

I made this card the other night to submit for Papertrey's Guest Star Stamper. I don't think I will actually get chosen but... it is fun to dream, right? I am just so thrilled to not be hoarding my stuff any longer. Thanks blogland!! You keep me creating!

When I saw this particular star stamp and the sentiment, I knew I had to make another raspberry fizz and black card. These colors always make me think of my niece, Libby. She is a rock star!!

I don't know what my fascination is lately with tearing my paper/cardstock!?!?!

On a personal note, I have a prayer request.

My sister-in-law, Brandy, is a very private person and I want to honor her wishes (of not posting about this) but I also believe in the power of prayer. Not to say that Brandy doesn't... she is just a private person where I am... not so much. :-)

My nephew,Dylan, is autistic/special needs. Dylan had some corrective surgery on his feet last night. Surgery went well (thank you God) but he is going to have to stay off his feet for four weeks. This is going to be an exhausting four weeks (and longer) for my brother and SIL. Not to mention the toll it is going to take on my sweet nephew. Dylan is very active and a big six year old.

I would appreciate any prayers you could offer up for them over the next couple of months. I ask that you pray for strength and wisdom for my brother and SIL. I ask that you pray for comfort, peace, and healing for Dylan. I ask that you pray for my niece, Paige, that she will be comforted during this difficult time for her brother. Lastly, I ask that you pray for wisdom for the rest of the family... that we will know how to help them. Thank you for your prayers!

And... if you are in my family... you didn't read this on my blog! :-) Shhhh...

Hope everyone is having a great weekend so far!

A Thank You

This is my attempt at making a Thank You card for a male! :-) I wanted to make a thank you for our pastor. Man cards are hard!! Nothing fancy on this card... just to the point. I started to just give him a boxed Thank you card but decided to go ahead and make one instead. The only 'extra' that I added was cutting out some of the circles stamped in a different color green and adhering them with dimensionals! Thanks for checking in to see my lame card! :-) Hope you all have a great Friday!

Supply List:

Stamps - Father Knows Best (PTI), Thank You (The Paper Company)

Paper - Ripe Avocado, Kraft (both PTI)

Ink - Dark Chocolate, Ripe Avocado, New Leaf (all PTI), Tim Holtz Distressing Ink

Mojo Monday Week 88

My cousin, Chelsea, got married in Las Vegas a month or so ago and is having a wedding reception this weekend. I wanted to make her a card to go along with her gift. I thought the new Mojo sketch would be a great guide for me to use.

I wanted to use the same color scheme that was on her reception invitation so I stuck with mainly black and white.

Here is a close up shot of the bride image. The frosted lace stickles is hard to see in the first picture.

Supply list:
Stamps - Studio G (Bride), Scripty Words by Kim Hughes (CHF), Fancy Flourishes (PTI)
Paper - Stampers Select White, Soft Stone, Black and White Basics (all PTI)
Ink - True Black (PTI)
Ribbon - Fresh Snow (PTI)
Other - Copic R29, Frosted Lace Stickles, Black Rhinestones, Marvy Circle Punch

Moxie Fab World Challenge

I have recently found the Moxie Fab World blog after seeing stuff about it on other blogs I read. I have been seeing it for a while but never took the time to check it out until recently. I really like this blog!! I am glad I finally took the time to check it out. What took me so long? Maybe it has something to do with the fact I have a two year old and only get to play after he is in the bed.

Recently a challenge was posted that I thought I would like to play along with. I really liked the colors and I was curious if I could come up with anything using them.

Here is what I came up with...

Supply list:
Stamps - Flowers (The Paper Co), Polka Dot Basics (PTI), Spunky Nature (My Cute Stamps)
Paper - Stampers Select White, Kraft (both PTI)
Ink - Summer Sun, Old Olive, Whisper White (all SU)
Other - Twine (Joann's), New Leaf Button (PTI), Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch, Clear Rhinestones

Memorial Day

We had a great Memorial Day celebrating with the Eubanks! We had a great steak dinner (thanks Poppy and Granna) and we got to play outside in between rain showers. I wanted to share some of my favorite pics of the day.

Poppy and Granna recently purchased this 4-wheeler and a few bikes for the kids (big and little) to enjoy. Here is Michael and Carver taking it for a spin. Don't worry mom.... Michael drove slow! :-) Well... he did when Carver was riding with him.

I thought this was sweet of Carver and Michael watching all of the fun.

This is Natalee and Michael racing down the driveway... I think Natalee won!

Here is Michael trying to ride a bike that is obviously too small for him. I thought it was cute!

Sweet picture of Poppy and Libby!

Here is Bill waiting to ride with Rex. He looks like a guy ready to race!

Michael brought his airplane to fly! I got some great shots of it in the sky.... right before it would crash to the ground! ha... :-) love ya honey!
Here is Lisa and Rex after taking their turn on the 4-wheeler. Most of the shots I got of them riding were of their back so I was glad they took time to pose for me!
Check out Carver's Spider Man sunglasses.... he is too cute!
This is some kind of buzzard or something. After Michael flew his plane, this bird thing came around and hung out in a tree for a while. Bill finally figured out that it came over because it saw the plane circling around. It must have thought there was something dead lying around.
Granna wanted to do something special for Michael and I for our anniversary so she asked Lisa to make a stop on the way over. While I was outside taking pictures, this is what Lisa came up with. Too cute and very sweet!
After Michael would get finished tearing up the yard with the 4-wheeler, he would wash off his legs and feet with this hose. Carver watched him and figured out that water would drip on his foot if he stood there. So cute!
And last but definitely not least.... here is Granna tearin it up on the 4-wheeler!! :-)
Fun Day!!

Papertrey Blog Hop

This is my first Papertrey Blog Hop! I am excited!! Thanks for stopping by to check out my card!

I made a card, similar to this one, for a color challenge a few weeks ago and I have been wanting to make more since then. I also have been wanting to use these colors together so I thought I would combine my two ideas for tonight's blog hop. I am so into gray, white, yellow, and orange right now. I think they look great together!

I used Mega Mixed Messages to create my background. I have owned the Mixed Messages for a while and was thrilled when the Mega version came out! I got it immediately!

I am also loving my Sizzix Flower Layers die. I love the cool shape of the flowers. I used Polka Dot Basics and Faux Ribbon to stamp up my flower layers. I added a brad and put the flower on with dimensionals.

This card was so easy to make. The part that took me the longest was stamping up the background. I used all the sentiments that weren't specific to a holiday, baby, etc. I stamped those in Summer Sunrise and Smokey Shadow. I stamped the Just Because sentiment in orange to help it stand out. I thought this would be a great card to send to someone just because....

Thanks again for stopping by! I am excited to see what you have made and get myself some inspiration! :-) Happy Memorial Day!

Supply list:
Stamps - Mega Mixed Messages, Polka Dot Basics, Faux Ribbon (all PTI)
Paper - Summer Sunrise, Smokey Shadow (both PTI), Pumpkin Pie (SU)
Ink - Summer Sunrise, Smokey Shadow (both PTI), Pumpkin Pie (SU)
Other - Sizzix Flower Layers Die, Brad from stash

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #7

When I made this card, I guess I was feeling a little sentimental, corny, whatever you want to call it.

This is my take on Dawn McVey's latest Color Challenge. I haven't used my Limitless Limbs stamp set very often. This idea came to me right away and I went with it. It was meant to look like all the love is falling out of the tree (except for one little heart that is hanging on) because I miss you so much! Who do I miss? I dunno! Who will I ever send this to? No one probably! How corny is it? Pretty corny! :-)

The sentiment is hard to read because white was not a color we could use so I sponged the raspberry fizz bitty dots paper with ripe avocado ink. The sentiment is also stamped in ripe avocado ink. It was late and my sponging is a little heavy! You can see it in person but it doesn't show up as well in this picture.

Supply List:
Stamps - Limitless Limbs (Pink Cat Studio), Scripty Words (Kim Hughes Collection - CHF), Polka Dot Basics (PTI)
Paper - Spring Moss, Ripe Avocado, Raspberry Fizz Bitty Dots (all PTI)
Ink - Ripe Avocado, Raspberry Fizz (both PTI)
Ribbon - Ripe Avocado, Raspberry Fizz (both PTI)

Kwerner Color Inspiration #53

I have been wanting to make some 4th of July cards this year to send out to my family. I want to every year and have never actually done it. When I saw the newest Kwerner color challenge, I thought... here is my chance to get started. I thought these colors were perfect to make a 4th of July card. Nothing too fancy. I want to be able to mail this card so I didn't want to use buttons or anything that could get damaged in the mail. I did use a dimensional behind the big star but that is it. The rest is stamped right on to the white cardstock.

Supply list:
Stamps - Everyday Classics, Faux Ribbon (both PTI), Studio G (sentiment - $1 bin at Joannes)
Paper - Stampers Select White (PTI)
Ink - Basic Black, Pacific Point, Summer Sun (all SU), Pure Poppy (PTI), Ranger Distress Ink

Little Man

Our little Carver man has been a sick boy the past two days! Carver has been running a fever up to 104.5 degrees since yesterday morning. I called the doctors office today and spoke with a nurse. After speaking with her, we decided we would wait until tomorrow morning to take him in if his temp hadn't gone down some. Carver has had several different virus related temperatures lasting 4 or 5 days lately so I have been a little less panicked about this one. However... our wonderful pediatrician and friend came by tonight to check on him. Dr. Bill discovered that Carver may have strep throat. The throat looks like strep but he didn't have a strep test with him to know for sure. Dr. Bill called in some antibiotics and we were able to get a dose in him before bedtime.

We don't like it when our baby is sick!! I can't imagine how parents feel when they have really sick children. I thank God everyday for his health and pray that he will continue to be a healthy boy. Thinking about all the bad things that could be... is torture. Being a parent is the best thing in the world but also the worst. I hurt more over things that could happen than I ever thought I would. I never knew how to love so much it hurt... until I held him in my arms!

This little boy has taught me so much. I get so hurt when Carver doesn't have time for me or doesn't want to love on me. I know he is going to hurt me over and over and over his entire life. Not that he will do it intentionally but.... that is just part of it. One day he won't need his mommy like he does now. I can't tell you the number of times in the past two years that I have thought.. wow... this is how God feels. This is what I do to Him everyday. God loves me more than I could ever love Carver. How disappointed He must be in me. How hurt He must be that I don't take time to spend with Him like I should. He gave His precious Son for me... what do I give Him in return? How He must want and need my love and affection and how hurt He must be when I don't give it to Him.

Wow... this is not where this post was intended to go but... it is what is on my heart right now so... there ya go!

One more thing... words/actions cannot describe how thankful I am to have a friend/pediatrician who cares enough about my son and our family to come see us (without us asking) after a long Friday at work. I love people who love my child! They are my favorite people in the world and will always mean more to me than most others.

Rex's Big Game

On Tuesday night, my nephew, Rex had his first T-ball game. Those boys were so cute... especially Rex! :-) This is Rex, before the game, getting his 'make-up' on. All the boys were asking why they were getting make-up put on. They already looked so cute in their little uniforms but this just added more cuteness. I am not even sure if that is a word! :-)

Here is Rex taking a swing at the ball. Look at his face... he is giving it all he has! Rex did really well hitting. He knocked over the tee a few times but only a few. When Rex hit the ball, it went pretty far for such a little man.

How cute is he? Couldn't you just eat him up? This is Rex catching me taking his picture. The next shot I took was of the back of his head. I know they all get so tired of me and my camera. One day they will thank me! :-)
And last but not least... here is Rex getting some first base instructions from his daddy. So sweet!!
