Riley Clayton Edwards

This is a picture from our wedding in 1998. Pictured is my grandmother, Ruby, myself, and my grandfather, Riley. This is the best picture that I have to share of Riley. I hate I had to include myself.

Riley passed away 10 years ago today. I can't believe it has been 10 years. I miss Riley. Our whole family misses Riley, but none more than my grandmother.

Riley was a character to say the least. Riley could always put a smile on your face. He was a joy to be around.

I played basketball, volleyball, and softball growing up. I started in t-ball and didn't stop playing some sort of ball until after my first year of college. Riley and my grandmother were at just about every game I played, if not all. They loved to watch all of their grandchildren play ball. I have always loved them both for supporting me and loving me enough to come watch me do something I enjoyed doing.

I don't remember a lot about Riley when I was younger. I don't even remember how old I was when he and my grandmother were married. I know that he always loved me though. Riley loved all of his family more than anything or anybody on this earth.

When I started driving, if I ever got behind Riley at a stop sign or a red light, he would always jump out of his truck and come running back to my car to throw money at me. I can't count the number of times he did that. It always made me laugh.

I wish Riley could know this Kelley... the Kelley that I am today. The wife of almost 11 years and the mother to a toddler. I don't think that I am anything special now... just maybe a little more grown up. I was only 22 when Riley died and I had gotten into my share of trouble when I was a teenager.

I miss you and love you!!

What a sweet post. It reminds me of my grandfather that we all miss. I always wish Chase would have been able to meet him.

Thanks Courtney! I wish my grandfather could have met Carver too! It is sad losing the ones you love! Never stop missing them!
