Crap Hiney

I couldn't decide between this post title or... You Might Be A Redneck If... here is why...

We have been working on potty training this little funny man for a little while. Not anything too serious... mommy has not been as consistent as I should be. We switched to only Pull ups recently so this has helped a lot with mommy's issues.

Well... we had a big day today! Carver went poop in the potty today. This is where I explain Crap Hiney!

Carver has gone pee pee in the potty a lot but today was the first poop action the potty has seen (well... at least from Carver). After breakfast, Carver had gone to his room, which is always a sign he is pooping, so I ran in to see what he was doing. Sure enough he was in his closet with the door shut. This means he is definitely pooping. I opened the door and was greeted with a red face asking me to "go back in there mommy". Like any man (or woman I guess) Carver likes his privacy to do his business.

I scooped him up and we ran to the toilet. After Carver saw me drop the little bit of poop he had already 'made' in the toilet, I guess he figured it would be okay to try and let the rest of it go in the toilet!! Hooray... We celebrated... We watched the poop go down as Carver flushed the toilet. I was so excited!

While we were washing our hands, Carver asked if he could see his hiney. I picked him up so he could look in the mirror. Carver pointed to his crack and asked, "What's that mommy?", to which I responded, "that's your crack" ! :) Turns out Carver was interested in where his poop had come from. Anyway.... a minute or so later, in the thrill of the moment (still celebrating the big event), Carver said, "I poop out my crap hiney!". Carver has been saying crap hiney all day!! I have corrected him a few times but it is just too cute! Crap Hiney... he is so funny!

Now... on to the You Might Be A Redneck If.

I took Carver, after breakfast, up to our church parking lot so he could ride his tricycle. We don't have a flat yard or driveway and people drive way too fast in our neighborhood so... we have to go somewhere else to ride the tricycle outside. Anyway...

When we were loading up to come back home, Carver announced that he had to go pee pee! Well... this was the first time I think he has actually told me. We were too far away from the church building and the back doors were locked anyway so I just stripped him down and let him pee outside.

As you can guess.... HE LOVED IT! Carver has gone pee pee outside 3 times today! The first time, at church, no one was around so it really wasn't a big deal. After we got home, however, the easiest place to take him outside is just right in our front yard so ... two times today anyone driving by our house got a view of a totally naked little boy peeing right in the front yard. Like any good mommy... I took pictures but would be afraid of being arrested on child porn charges if I posted them! :)

The last time he did it, Michael was home and went outside with us. Michael was the one who said that we looked so redneck! :) Hey... we do live in TN, right? That is what most people think anyway so why not live up to it! :) I don't really care. I am just thrilled he is telling me when he has to go potty. This is a breakthrough people!!

Wow... sorry this is so long! Thanks for hanging in there if you have! :)

The picture I posted is Carver playing with his new toy that he picked out tonight at Target! His potty chart is full of stickers again and we had such a great day of going on the big boy potty (or outside) that we had to go get him a treat! Something besides his "nem n' nems"! That's Carver talk for M&Ms!!

As a preschool director, let me congratulate you on this great accomplishment! Too many people wait too long (until a child is 3) and it becomes a real struggle. Sounds like you've hit it at just the right time. And, oh, yes. At least once during a school year we catch a little boy peeing on the playground. Usually we "blame" the dads, but... hmmm. Maybe we should rethink that! :)

What a great story. Potty training a little boy sure can be challenging. Here's hoping that yesterday was just the beginning of many wonderful things and that soon, you will be diaper free.

That is hilarious! Welcome to the Redneck world! We have one bathroom in our house, so sometimes my son just has to go outside to pee! It doesn't seem to bother him! :)

Yippie for the poop in the toilet!! And girl...my almost 7 year old son still 'waters the lawn' if you know what I'm saying!! No one thinks twice here.....I guess it's a Croatian thing! ;)
I didn't post any pictures of my youngest while we were at the beach because he was always BUTT NAKED (along with all the other small children).

Oh this is too funny! My youngest sibling is my brother--he learned to "go" by going outside and "watering" the pole on which our farm dinner bell was fastened! And my dad refuses to go to a retirement home because, well, I won't go into that......suffice it to say that he is still a farmer at heart. Cute "eye" card, too! LOL!

Kelley, this is hilarious.....things you MUST tell his wife someday! Now you can understand how I potty trained 3 boys.....I just stuck 'em out in the back yard naked...and there ya have it!

you HAVE to save this story for when Carver's around 13....a little 'thank you' for all the craziness that you've encountered (and will) from him...I can just hear..."oh honey, remember the time....that was just soooo cute...I bet your friends would love that story!" tee hee!! (blackmail at it's finest!!)

This is really funny! The "crack hiney" reminds me of something my 3 year old son would say! When reading all of this it reminds me soo much of what I went through last winter with potty training my son. And now he pees in our yard all the time too!! And we are in the south too!! Some days he'll be just playing away outside and next thing I know, I see him out there with his pants off and he's bare butt and peeing away!! It's hilarious! Thankfully, we live in the country where not too many people can see. But it's ever so funny the things these boys do! We also bought our son a toy after he first went poop on the potty! I totally understand the whole ordeal of getting them to go and how frustrating it can be. I too was struggling with being consistent with it and got tired of cleaning up poop all the time! But then when they finally start pooping on the potty, it's SUCH a break-through and you just feel soo excited you want to tell everyone!
And once the potty training has been totally accomplished, it's SUCH a relief! Now we're just having to deal with our son peeing the bed lately. When he was first potty trained (before he turned 3) he rarely peed the bed at night, so it's just something we need to work with him on, I think he's just a really sound sleeper and won't wake up to go use the potty. He's been completely potty trained since last March I think it was.
So rest assured, your son WILL be completely potty trained soon, and you'll be smiling with pride and joy at your little man and what he's accomplished (as I'm sure you already do!). :)
