Big Boy Bed

This weekend was very busy at our house. On Friday, we were busy all day (will post about it later) and we had even more to do yesterday. We finally made the transition to a big boy bed for Carver.

My sister-in-law, Lisa, gave us the baby furniture we had been using. My niece, Libby and my nephew, Rex both used the same furniture. This made the furniture very special for us, not to mention the fact it was free. :-) Well, the toddler furniture Carver is using now is some that Granna bought. Rex used it first and now it is Carvers turn. It is antique and I love it. Again... not to mention the fact that it is free! :-) Worked out great for us both times! ha... Thanks again Lisa and Granna!!

Michael dropped Carver off at my parents house yesterday on the way to Lisa's to get the toddler furniture. This was a huge help because I had to do some rearranging and had to make a couple of runs to Target. So... Thanks to you too mom and dad! :-)

When Carver got home last night, his baby furniture was gone and his big boy furniture was in and ready to go! Carver was very excited! I wasn't sure how it was going to go but I am happy to report, Carver wanted to go straight to his bed after his bath. He slept in his bed all night until around 5:30 am at which time he got in our bed.

I have been leaving Carvers door open at night and that has helped with him actually being OK with getting in the bed and falling asleep. He still wakes up at some point every night to get in our bed, but at least we are able to get a few things done and a couple hours of sleep before he does! The battles seem to be over for now anyway!

I wanted to share a few more pictures of Carver's first big boy bed experience.

Being a typical boy, the first thing Carver did when he saw his bed was to go over and try to figure out how to unlatch the side rail!

Here he is checking it out once he got on the bed...

Now he is seeing how it feels to lay on ....

Now he and daddy are throwing toys at each other! Carver loves to throw anything... balls, toys, food, sippy cups... anything!

And here is my sweet boy, in his big boy bed, ready to go to sleep! I love you son!
